Makiya was a student Friendship Collegiate when she authored her books. She has written two books with Shout Mouse. She was fifteen when she wrote The Day Tajon Git Shot, and sixteen when she wrote her first picture book, Madison, Sit Down!

Mikala

Mikala was a student at Eastern High School when she authored her book. When she grows up, she wants to be a chef. Madison, Sit Down! was her first children's book. She was a junior when she wrote it. She liked seeing the illustrations and putting everyone's ideas together to make the book. She hopes that kids reading it understand that you can make new friends all the time.

Dartavius

Dartavius is a student at Dunbar High School. His dream is to become an actor. Critics have called him a beautifully talented illustrator. He was a sophomore when he wrote his first children's book, Drip Drip: The Story of the Angry Sherbet, which he has read too many times. He is also the author of Madison, Sit Down!
