About the Project
Shout Mouse Press is pleased to announce a BRAND NEW series of writing workshops in support of our upcoming Youth Activist Poetry Anthology. We'll be partnering with Split This Rock to support youth as they produce poetry that can be used to expose and amplify marginalized truths, support and inspire activism, and promote social change.
Between July 8 - August 14, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00-8:00PM, we're working with story coaches to hold PAID in-person writing workshops in Dupont Circle. Attendance to these workshops will be mandatory for all accepted participants. That said, we’re happy to honor the hours that young people put into these workshops with either a) a PAID stipend of $15/hour or b) documented community service hours.
Those who attend all 12 workshops will receive an $100 bonus at the end of the program.
