Shout Mouse Press is excited to announce the winners of the inaugural Bright Before Us Writing Contest!
This contest invited young writers ages 13–24 to create original work inspired by the themes, prompts, and stories in Bright Before Us, Like a Flame. We received submissions from young people all over the world that included poetry, fiction, children's books, essays, and more. A panel of Shout Mouse Press authors helped judge the submissions; guest judge José Olivarez selected the first, second, and third place winners and honorable mentions. Read more below.
