Yasmina
I am 17 years old and a junior in high school. I am a native Washingtonian, but my family is from New Guinea and Mali. I like to ride my bike, play Roblox, and bake. This is my first book and first real endeavor into writing. My favorite part of the writing process is character creation and describing our characters’ personality traits. I wanted to write this book because I wanted to create inclusive and diverse stories that I wasn’t able to read in books growing up. I hope that readers will feel seen as they read along. I would like to dedicate this book to my mother, Adele, for always encouraging me and never letting me give up.
